"Survival horror" is a term coined by Resident Evil, a plot-driven zombie shooter, for scary action/adventures with the constant threat of death. Often, they are also shooters in which it is best to run from combat because weapons are weak and ammunition is scarce. The player uncovers the plot while avoiding the monsters.
